Cancers (2020-08-01) . Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound (CEUS) for Follow-Up of Bosniak 2F Complex Renal Cystic Lesions—A 12-Year Retrospective Study in a Specialized European Center Hello, i have a bosniak cyst on my right kidney. The last ultrasound scan seemed to show that it had grown in the last year ( I've had it scanned yearly since it was found 5 years ago) it now measures 6 centimetres by 6 centimetres. I had a ct scan in November to check it out, it has several partitions.
some small renal masses are cystic in nature. the bosniak classification is used to classify these lesions, approximate risk of malignancy and direct management.13 Table 3 lists the bosniak classification and Table 4 outlines the basic management and follow up plan for patients in each of the bosniak classifications.

The purpose of this article was to review and compare the international guidelines and surveillance protocols for post-nephrectomy Current Projects. KDOQI is currently working on several projects, from creating new guidelines to updating existing guidelines.
The Bosniak Classification is used to quantify the risk of malignancy and need for observation or radical treatment based on the findings of computed tomography (CT). The case described is that of a 65-year-old man with renal cystic disease who was initially given a Bosniak stage IIF classification and was subsequently managed with CT surveillance. Conclusions: We present a practical guideline for kidney donors with Bosniak 2F cysts, balancing the risk of tumor trans-mission or recurrence with the benefit associated with organ transplantation, without compromising the risk of the donor and recipient.

Some investigators have also reported on patient outcomes after surgery, such as local recurrence and cancer-specific survival [ 12, 13, 15, 28, 31, 32 ]. The Bosniak classification system of renal cystic masses divides renal cystic masses into five categories based on imaging characteristics on contrast-enhanced CT. It is helpful in predicting a risk of malignancy and suggesting either follow up o For example, Bosniak IIF (where the F is for follow-up) was added for cystic masses with many thin (or minimally thickened) septa with “perceived” enhancement, large (>3 cm) homogeneous nonenhancing hyperattenuating masses, and masses with thick or non–border-forming calcification.

To evaluate the natural history of Bosniak 2F cystic renal masses based on serial long term follow up and propose a length of follow up for these lesions. METHOD AND MATERIALS A rad database was searched from 1/1/96 - 5/1/11 for all 2F lesions with C+ CT or MR and at least 6 mo f/u with C+ CT or MR. 214-2F lesions fulfilled these criteria.
